What do silicon breast implants look like after many years

Here is a silicone implant that was removed 30 years ago.

The “object” on the right was actually around the one on the left, though.

Around the implant, the patient’s capsular contracture had grown, painfully distorting the patient’s breast shape.

To protect us, the body often encapsulates foreign substances or even malignancies.

The removal was completed all at once.

You can, however, remove the implant initially and the capsule afterwards.

These capsules may get tighter and thicker with time, and hard calcifications may develop.

A fresh implant can also be inserted if the patient requests it.

Once they are placed within the body, breast implants only last a certain amount of time.
