This Bird Shed Their Feathers Like Snakes Shed Their Skin

We all know that snakes moult their skin periodically. Here, we have “the Willow Grouse“, the birds that shed their feathers three times a year revealing different plumages for each season. In summer, their reddish-brown color helps to conceal the females against the foliage, surrounding their nests. White plumage, in winter, hides the birds against the snow, while in spring and autumn, their patchy appearance provides with superb camouflage against the melting snow, rocks and vegetation.
