
Alongside the development of radio, radio control also emerged. It enables information transmission over radio waves and remote device control.
This is nothing novel or noteworthy today.
Yet, Nikola Tesla gave himself permission to jest with the crowd in 1898 when doing a concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
A little radio-controlled boat was his gift.
Now the inventor screamed commands out loud, persuading the audience that he was speaking commands to the prototype.

Of course, Tesla actually used a radio to steer the boat.
The inventor was granted a patent for this “control mechanism for vehicle movement” in the same year.
Unfortunately, I am not of how Tesla clarified his joke or even if he did, or how the general public reacted.
Yet, it must have worked like magic on people because this strategy.
